Sustainable Livelihoods

For pastoralist families, livestock is life — a source of food, income, savings and social standing. PACIDA strengthens the entire livestock economy: animal health and vaccination, rangeland management, fodder production, and market linkages that let herders sell at fair prices. We help households diversify beyond the herd through Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), small enterprise, and value-addition in milk, meat, hides and honey — building incomes that hold steady when the rains fail.
