Making Ends Meet Through a Cash Transfer Programme

Between October and December 2023, heavy flooding across parts of Kenya washed away crops, livestock and roads — and pushed already-stretched pastoralist families deeper into food insecurity.

PACIDA responded with an unconditional cash transfer programme that puts choice back in the hands of families. Rather than dictating what people need, cash lets each household decide for itself — food today, school fees tomorrow, animal feed or medicine when it matters most.
